Dombivli, November 22, 2021: Sant Ishwar Foundation, New Delhi felicitated Vivekananda Seva Mandal (VSM), Dombivali towards its special contribution to national and social work.
This honor was given on Sunday by Shri. Mohan Bhagwat, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Chief.
"Today's youth is capable and if the senior generation gives proper nurture and support to them, they will take India to the pinnacle," said Dr. Mohan Bhagwant during the ceremony.
During the Corona pandemic, Vivekananda Seva Mandal fulfilled its national duty by providing grocery to more than 6,000 needy families, mainly in Maharashtra and some in other states too.
Also, under Mobilize Underprivileged Social Entrepreneurs (MUSE) initiative implemented for the empowerment of women in tribal areas, the board is empowering local tribal women by providing self-employment.
Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Bondre, Chairman of VSM said, "We are grateful to receive this award from the world's largest service organization."
Inspired by Swami Vivekananda's 'Seva' principle, VSM, Dombivali has for the last 30 years been conducting various socially useful activities such as providing educational assistance to students in schools in the tribal area of Palghar and Shahapur, some schools in Thane assembly area, water-irrigation etc. The project is being implemented continuously.
The award is given from 2015 onwards for outstanding contribution in the fields of Tribal Welfare, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare and Arts, Literature, Environment, Health and Education.
