Water crisis and management

An ambitious project of construction of Dam

Water Crisis is a major technical challenge for our Engineers. Our Civil Engineers have decided to attend the problem giving appropriate technical solution.

The rain water from the nearby hills flows away through the natural channel situated towards the eastern side of the village. The topography of the area consists of moderate to steep sloped rocky land leading to the runoff at very high velocity with an inadequate absorption of water resulting into parity of surface as well as ground water.

Considering all the above mentioned problems, a centralized irrigation system was found to be an impractical and uneconomic solution. Hence, it has been decided to take a series of Bandharas (Water-sheds) distributed appropriately throughout the village area. To start with, two sites have been selected and detail site survey has been carried out. Contour diagrams have been plotted and detailed structural design has been completed under the assistance of some of the top officials from private consultancy.

Of course, the actual implementation of the project is subject to the availability of funds, which in fact is the biggest hurdle in our way
