VSM's Activities in FY 2024 - 2025
Building People. Building the Nation.
The year 2024–25 has been a remarkable journey for Vivekanand Seva Mandal (VSM) — a year filled with purpose, dedication, and impactful service. Guided by Swami Vivekanand’s ideals of Man-Making, Nation-Building, and Seva (Selfless Service), our volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring meaningful change in the lives of individuals and communities across education, environment, women's empowerment, and youth development.

At Vivekanand Seva Mandal, we believe in empowering individuals to become catalysts of change. Through our various initiatives, we strive to nurture responsible, self-reliant citizens who can contribute positively to society and the nation.

Each project continued to grow in reach and impact, supported by our passionate volunteers and generous donors.
📚 Nalanda Project — Education for Every Child
Objective:
Unleashing the potential of every student through value-integrated learning, cultivating holistic growth, national awareness, and responsible citizenship irrespective of their backgrounds.
Activities Conducted:
- Weekly Saturday sessions in English, Math, and Science across ZP and KDMC schools
- 12 STEM workshops with hands-on experiments and learning models.
- “Vidnyanotsav 2025” — annual science fair with participation from 300+ students.
- "Tejomay 2024" Diya painting and selling activity for students to cultivate artistic and selling skills.
- “Box of Happiness” Diwali drive distributed stationery and art kits to 500+ children.
- Killa(Fort) Making Competetion
- Skill development training for Computer, Welding and Maintenance activities.
- 10th Student Abhyasawrg to teach important concepts for the 10th standard.
- Start Gazing Session - To spark curiosity about astronomy among rural students and help them experience the wonders of science beyond textbooks.
- ZEP Program to support tribal students financially in education
Impact:
🎯 1200+ students benefitted | 20+ volunteers engaged | 5 schools supported
Goals for 2025-26:
- Reach 1,200+ students across 8-10 schools (rural + urban).
- Conduct Skill Development, STEM, Teacher Workshops & Value sessions in both areas.
- Launch sustainable, replicable models in education and skill training for lasting community impact.
- Support 25 students through ZEP (fees, books, hostel).
- Expand volunteer base.
👩🧵 MUSE — Empowering Women through Livelihood
Objective:
To focus on economic empowerment and personal development.
Activities Conducted:
- 50 women trained in product manufacturing.
- Participation in 5 NGO Melas to promote and sell their products.
- Launched an online catalogue for MUSE products on whatsapp business.
- Our First Batch of Cloth Bags went to US!
Impact:
🎯 80% women now earn an independent income | 7 products sold through fairs and events
Goals for 2025-26:
- Documentation completion of all Self Help Groups.
- Register the “OJAS” as a trademark.
- Incorporating the MUSE as a Section 8 company.
💪 Yuva Chetana — Inspiring the Youth
Objective:
To enable every individual associated to VSM to become a power centre through various events and initiatives.
Activities Conducted:
- Blood Donation Drive on Yuva Din with 50+ units collected.
- Swagat Yatra on Gudi Padwa promoting cultural pride.
- Monthly sessions on physical and mental health.
- Conducted volunteer training in Feb 2025
- Sneh Bhojan 2024 in Vihi gaon during Diwali - Celebrating togetherness
- Runmochan 2024 - To support tribal schools and communities through educational, nutritional, and infrastructural aid.
- Arranged a Trek to Raigad and Nanghat for the youth to connect with the glorious history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Impact:
🎯 1,200+ youth reached | 10+ new volunteers joined | 4 awareness sessions
🧹 Swachh Dombivli Abhiyan — Clean City, Proud Citizens
Objective:
Imbibe the idea of cleanliness and make our city green and pollution-free.
Activities Conducted:
- 20 cleanliness drives across public areas and societies.
- Tree Plantation and Conservation
- School awareness sessions reaching 1,000+ students.
- Eco-friendly Ganeshotsav celebration
- Eco-friendly paper bag making for the collection of Nirmalya
- Water conservation rally on the eve of World Water Day to promote water conservation
Impact:
🎯 1000+ citizens engaged | 500+ Students engaged
Initiatives for 2025-26:
- Reel Competition for College students on the theme of ‘शहि स्वच्छता आणि पयाविि’.
- Street-play competition for colleges on the theme of ‘शहि स्वच्छता आणि पयाविि’.
- Wardwise Cleanliness Campaigns for Dombivlikar residents to share their thoughts on solutions for ‘शहि स्वच्छता’.
- Delivering Solid Waste Management Seminars and Conducting Waste Management Drives in Societies, Schools, and Colleges.
- Conducting Community Engagement Activities where people from Various business Communities will participate in the Swachata Abhiyan to make Swachha Dombivli Sundar Dombivli.
- We will continue the Paryavaran Shala Initiative to raise awareness among school children about sustainable lifestyles and eco-friendly festival celebrations.
- We will continue the Tree Plantation and Conservation Abhiyan using both approaches: Direct plantation and Nurturing Saplings for future replantation.
⚙️ Engineering Community Center (ECC) — Technology for Social Good
Overview:
Excelling India through a technical mindset
Activities Conducted
- Future Forge - Connect & collaborate with colleges for skill development sessions/workshops, and builda technical community
- Founded VSM’s Empowerment through Engineering & Research (V.E.E.R) group - 2 projects are in development
- Founded Dombivli Astronomy Club (DAC) - 3 sessions conducted.
- Mentored 10+ students in applying technical knowledge to NGO and civic projects.
- Organized expert talks and field exposure visits.
🎯 Impact: 450+ engineering students trained | 10+ social tech prototypes developed | 3 institutions collaborated
🏞️ Gram Vikas — Empowering Rural Communities
Overview:
To create empowered, self-sustaining rural communities where every individual lives with dignity and access to life’s fundamental needs.
Highlights:
- Relationship building at Umbravane, Dand, Fugale, and Kalbhonde.
- Participated in the Ganpati Festival Visit at Fugale
- Geo-physical survey at Kalbhonde for water conservation project feasibility
- Jalshakti Abhiyan at Kalbhonde
- Built a Farm Pond in Dhakne for water management of Chindyachiwadi School.
🎯 Impact: 3 villages supported | 300+ rural beneficiaries | 20+ volunteers participated
Goals for 2025-26:
- Borewell recharge project through rainwater harvesting
- Reviving a natural source of water.
