The Problem We're Solving
Dhakne Village, a thriving tribal community of 2000 residents and 1000 cattle, faces interconnected challenges that hinder its progress. The core issues include:
- Chronic Water Scarcity: Inadequate water for drinking, sanitation, and agriculture, affecting both human and cattle populations.
- Healthcare & Educational Deficits: Limited access to quality medical services and educational infrastructure.
- Agricultural Stagnation: Outdated farming practices and lack of water leading to low crop yields and food insecurity.
- Limited Livelihood Opportunities: A lack of skills and resources beyond subsistence farming, leading to economic instability.
These multi-dimensional problems create a cycle of poverty, preventing the community from achieving its full potential.
Our Solution
Our solution is a holistic village development model that breaks the cycle of poverty by tackling all core issues simultaneously. We create a virtuous cycle where:
- Water Security enables better Agriculture.
- Agricultural Surplus improves Health & Nutrition.
- A healthier, educated community can engage in diversified Livelihoods.
- This integrated approach ensures long-term sustainable development and community ownership.
Project Goals
- Achieve Water Sustainability: Ensure year-round water access for all 2000 residents and 1000 cattle
- Enhance Health & Education Metrics: Significantly reduce water-borne diseases and malnutrition; achieve a 100% school enrollment rate and improved learning outcomes
- Boost Agricultural Output: Increase crop yield by at least 50% through improved irrigation and modern techniques
- Create Sustainable Livelihoods: Establish at least three new community-led enterprises, diversifying income for 100+ households
- Foster a Self-Reliant Community: Empower the village governance system to independently manage and sustain the development gains
